【摘要】

This interactive two-part workshop is designed to provide early-career researchers and graduate students with valuable exposure to both the frontiers of international business research and practical strategies for effective research framing.

In the first session, Professor Cui will introduce participants to current themes in international business and strategy, with a particular focus on how emerging trends—such as shifts in global competitive dynamics—are shaping academic research agendas. Drawing on examples from his own publications, he will illustrate how these frontier issues can inspire innovative and impactful research directions.

The second session will offer a practical, hands-on exploration of how to frame a research question to highlight its novelty, relevance, and theoretical contribution, and how to convincingly justify the research design. Participants will work with a structured research framing template, engage in interactive exercises, and receive tailored discussion and feedback.

This workshop aims to help participants gain both conceptual insights and practical skills, empowering them to position and present their research more effectively on the international academic stage.

All faculty members and students who are interested in potential collaboration with Professor Cui are warmly welcome to join. An additional session will be reserved for open discussion and Q&A.

【嘉宾简介】

Professor Lin Cui is currently a Professor of International Business at the Australian National University and serves as Associate Dean of the College of Management. His research focuses on the internationalization strategies of firms in emerging market economies, institutional perspectives in international business, and the intersection of entrepreneurship and international strategy. He has published over 50 articles in top international journals such as  Journal of International Business Studies ,  Strategic Management Journal ,  Organization Studies , and  Journal of World Business . He has received best paper awards at the Academy of Management (AOM) and the Academy of International Business (AIB). He has led and participated in multiple funding projects from the Australian Research Council and the National Natural Science Foundation, among others. He currently holds senior editorial roles at  Journal of International Management ,  International Business Review ,  Asia Pacific Journal of Management , and  Management & Organization Review , and is an editorial board member of  Journal of International Business Studies . His Google Scholar citation count is 5,439, with an h-index of 34 (as of the latest available data).
